I know there is tons and tons of content out on the web related to improving your golf game. Hopefully you find this site helpful in filtering out a bunch of the nonsense and focusing on the quality instruction that IS out there if you look hard enough. One of the best sites I've seen for quality video tutorials is www.golf.com. Im not affiliated with this site at all, but if you are looking for advice, tips, and drills from top instructors, this is the site you need to check out. They categorize the tutorials into topics such as, Hit it Long, Hit it Straight, Putting, Short Game, Mental Game, etc. Within each category are approximately 20 videos...all with worthwhile information. I suggest you check it out. Hopefully you dont have information overload. Sometimes your head gets in the way and you start thinking of too many things at once. But in time, if you utilize some of the tips and practice hard, you will improve, I promise.

Fine tune your putting stroke.

This is the next video in the 'short game' series. The last blog entry talked about the putting grip and gave 3 different grip techniques which gives you the option to find the one that works best for you. This video addresses the putting stroke. If you have inconsistencies in your putting stroke, Shawn Clement will show you how to fine tune your stroke and give you the mental edge to help you roll closer to the hole and hopefully even sink a few.

Putt for dough...

As the saying goes, you drive for show and putt for dough. I wish I had more opportunities to putt for dough....maybe in my next life. According to Golf Magazine, putting strokes account for 43% of all strokes in the average round of golf....dont believe it? Count (all) your putts the next time you play a round and divide that number by your total strokes. The number may surprise you. Its obvious how significant of an impact total putts can have on total strokes in a round. The following video examines 3 common grip techniques: the reverse overhand, the left-hand low grip, and the claw grip. Check them out, and remember to use what grip is comfortable for you....and of course whatever one sinks the most putts. Enjoy!
